Framed Arrowhead

Framed Arrowhead

Regular price £50.00

Leaf arrowheads appear with the arrival of the Neolithic, they are the first kind of invasively flaked (pressure-flaked) arrowhead in use approx. 4000-3400BC.

Barbed and Tanged arrowheads are the last type of flaked stone arrowhead (of a consistent style) seen in NW European prehistory. They appear during the transition from the Neolithic to Early Bronze Age approx. 2450-1600 BC.

Each arrowhead has been handmade using authentic tools and materials by archaeologist and craftsman Dr. James Dilley. The surrounding flakes have all come from the arrowhead in the frame.
